I still will use the Ryobi trimmer in the future where I need the additional reach that this device gives me, but for other bush trimming, I'll stick to using my manual clippers and the "Hedge Hog". In fact for the lilac bush, I went back to using my 20 year old Black and Decker "Hedge Hog". I believe that the trimmer would work considerably better with a better design of the blade assembly. The biggest problem is that the branches seem to simply slip out of the cutting teeth due to the angled design of the teeth.
